To be honest, I never played an elderscrolls game. Nor did I ever feel like I would. But after watching this trailer...I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with what I saw. Any others?

Its Bethesda. I'm going to go ahead and say no, it probably doesn't. Not that'll matter to me so much, still looks very promising. One thing I really like about this was the scenery. Alot of games these days seems to be pastels of gray and brown. Its very nice to see things like snow, a forest. A forest in Autumn, towns that don't look like they've been ransacked.

Also, it looks like there's a third person aspect to it. When I played Oblivion, I liked the first person perspective at points, and at others not so much (iirc it was only in First person). I would rather enjoy playing such a beautiful game from a third person perspective.

From what I seen, some mechanics don't seem to dissimilar to how in Fallout you could switch from Third to First person on the fly. I wouldn't be surprised if they added that in the game.

Well, based on what I have seen thus far, I really can't say. If it does than that would be pretty sweet. Fallout would fit a MMORPG pretty damn well if you ask me, and if ES isn't to dissimilar to it, than this would be a interesting twist on it.

Anyway, very nice screenshots from the ES website Smile

The game looks like its shaping up to a nice piece of interactive art as well.

Indeed. I hope they expand upon the Hunting possibilities soon!

Since this is more medieval, I think this would be much better for hunting unlike Fallouts version, which involved me being attacked by swarms of geckos and what not. But if its somewhat comforting, I have seen bears in some of the concept art, so except something pretty interesting.

Anyway, is anyone else wondering what kind of weapons will be in Skyrim? I myself will probably use two handed weapons, and maybe some archery to cover my bases.

I would be hoping for spears/lances. Or two handed axes. I'll probably start with SnS with a bow on backup.

Not sure about the spears or lances, but...

A couple of those guys are busting out two handed axes. Given that I'd be shocked to see if their not in game weapons.

Do you think we should expand to this game? Even if it doesn't have online, we can still discuss it and roleplay...

Theres certainly room for that, yes. Discussion on the game is always pretty neat regardless.

I think we should have a dedicated branch for RPGs. Perhaps call it SPQR.

Sure, but thats something probably to be discussed within a different thread, anywho, back on topic.

The only weapons I'm watching for is the two-handed sword (Duh). Yes, I know that would throw "Oh, but you can use swords and magic at the same time" out the window, but magic is probably something I probably will stray away from. At least my first play though.

Personally, I'm going to really enjoy the vast world, I'll explore a lot of the world. Keeps you interested, especially since Skyrim seems pretty dynamic.

That is the number one reason I loved Fallout. Now yes there were no rolling plains or pretty forests, but ya know....Just the feeling that theres an entire land to explore, and your just a small (Although you pretty much influence its future...you get what I'm saying) part of it. Skyrim seems to be much bigger, with actual towns and epic scenery. Something like that I feel it will be so much easier to get absorbed in...until a troll comes out of nowhere and begins to disembowel you.

Or a dragon dive bombs you. Still, it would be a nice thing to experience just to know that anything can happen at anytime.

So is everyone hoping that all creatures level up with and stay a few levels ahead of you or would you rather the world be divided into areas where creatures are set between a certain level. Should someone whose a level 5-10 be able walk into an endgame area and fight monsters of similar level or would you rather each area has creatures set between certain levels so you can't walk into a level twenty area as a one and survive?
