I'll admit it. I love politics, stereotypical jokes, and of course, you could say I also have a thing for anime.
I was suggested by a girl in my Civics class to watch Hetalia: Axis Powers, and so I did.
If you're interested in watching Hetalia: Axis Powers, feel free to watch it on Hulu (since I felt generous, I bought a Hulu+ subscription so I can watch other animes from the comfort of my PS3) http://www.hulu.com/hetalia-axis-powers (there's only 4 dubbed episodes though, the rest are all with subtitles. Will definitely help with your Japanese)
I'm literally addicted to Hetalia, and watched 9 episodes in a row! Episodes are ~ 5 minutes long, making it a casual watch that doesn't take up a whole entire 30 minute slot on your schedule.
Anyway, onto the actual anime. Hetalia: Axis Powers covers the events of WWII, portrays the countries as handsome boys, and combines it with crude jokes along with politics. You don't have to be a history buff, but if you are, you're going to love it.
- Spoiler:
Italy. Seriously, he keeps bugging the hell out of Germany. His catch phrase is "Pasta!". Such an insult to Italians
As you can guess, the good 'ole US of A loves being the hero, telling others what to do, and well....eating hamburgers.
Though I have no favorite episode thus far, it was love at first sight with this anime.
