So, how does everyone feel about the recent passing of the law that allows us to slaughter horses and consume their meat?

In all honestly, while it may be common in some parts of the world, being that we have mostly been raised that animals like horses are to be used for farming, racing, show, and breeding and that they have a role in society alongside humans much in the way dogs do. I find myself disgusted and rather saddened at the decision.

Legalize horse meat.

Eat horses.

???

PROFIT!

In all seriousness though. Really? Horse meat? Who's shit brained idea was that? I mean...what the hell? Horses are typically to valuable as work animals, even in other countries, making whatever amount of meat they provide look small in comparison. Are we really in that bad a shape to start eating horses? Can't wait to try the new Dog and Cat burgers down at the local restaurant. My only assumption that tries to rationalize this is that, when a horse gets old, its cheaper to send em to the glue factory than euthanize them.

Its not just the slaughter that deeply disturbs me, but how horses are treated cruelly in slaughter houses.

Hardly healthy actually. Plants only contain so much nutrition. If you completely take away meat you'd wind up doing more damage than you would good to your body without supplementing them with something else.

On that note, what would vegans do if I said plants have feeling too. Holy crap, I see a new movement coming. Maybe they'll turn to cannibalism, just because eating humans is more humane to plants and animals.
