As the name of the thread states. Is there an anime that you truly enjoyed watching? It could be for any reason, whether it be the story, the art style, the plot, the fan service, etc. By all means if you have a few don't be afraid to come in and list them!
I'll start us off by saying an anime that I truly enjoyed watching was Naoki Urasawa's: Monster. I loved it for it's intriguing plot and setting. Set as what starts off as story of an upstart Doctor looking to save everyone he can became a chase for redemption when a Sociopathic murderer becomes the patient that should have died.

Quick note: if you have a quick cover image or wallpaper, please put it in spoilers for those with bad connections.

I don't watch a whole lot of anime, but the ones I have seen were rather entertaining, and I have to say, its hard to have me watch something AND keep me interested. Two in particular that interested me were....

Spoiler:
Neon Genesis Evangelion

This one is a older one, and I'm going to go and ahead that a fair portion of you are familiar with it and its...oddities. First half of the series seems just like any other giant robots fighting monsters/Teenage hijinxs, but the second half of the series? Holy shit. Everything begins to spiral downhill for the entire cast. Huge mindfucks, some pseudo philosophical debates between characters (Usually in the confines of their own minds) and interesting imagery/symbolism/ (Depends on how you take it.) Really interesting show over all.

Spoiler:
Elfen Lied.

This show is attended for more mature audiances in its nature. Its very gory (Where just about everyone has their limbs ripped off in a violently excessive manner) and there is quite alot of nudity throughout (There is no sex scenes, and it doesn't show any reproductive organs) but most for a good portion of the time some female is probably naked. Base summrary taken from TV Tropes.

"Lucy, a beautiful but extremely dangerous mutant, escapes from a sinister research facility, brutally slaughtering anyone that gets in her way, whether they intended to or not. However, a glancing head shot from an anti-tank rifle leaves her injured, and she falls into the ocean, unconscious...
Later, university student Kouta and his female cousin Yuuka are walking along the Yuigahama beach near Kamakura, when they find a naked young woman with horns on her head. They end up taking her home and calling her Nyu after the only sound she makes.
Between the sinister government agency running the facility, Yuuka's jealousy, Nyu's sociopathic alternate personality and a traumatic past he cannot remember, Kouta is in deep trouble. Caught between monsters, both human and not, where does his loyalty lie?"

Despite all this, the manga (Not the anime) is what really got me. It has quite a blend of themes that really make this something rather interesting to watch. And than theres the cast of characters, each of whom seem to have some serious problem one way of the other. Firstly:

Mayu: Abused by mother and raped by step dad.

Nozomi: Also beaten/abused to the point where she pretty much has lost all control of her blatter and has to wear diaper. (Manga only)

Kouta: Post tramatic stress disorder. Can't remember shit what happened to his family (For a good reason)

Lucy: Anything involving her doesn't end well.

Nyuu. Body of an 18 year old. Mind of a two year old.

And many more...

I would state the rest, but honestly, just watch it, and if you can, read the manga. Their both good either way.

(Manga hasn't been localized ((And never will)) so if you can find it somewhere, by all means do. It is much better than the anime, despite its artwork severely lacking.)
